Kirkbymoorside 10K Run 2012

Kirkbymoorside will host the 12th Annual 10K Race on Bank Holiday Sunday, 6th May 2012.

Teen’s 5K Race:  New for 2012! For Secondary School Years 7-11 inclusive. This year we will be introducing a 5K race for 11-15 year olds.  Many Primary School children leave year 6 disappointed that there is no race opportunity until they can enter the 10K race.   The 5km event will start and finish in the centre of Kirkbymoorside.  Medals to all.
Dash:  400 metres up and back down the High Street.  Suitable for any children  School Years 2 and below. Parents are more than welcome to join in with their children.
Children’s 1 mile Race:  For children in Primary Junior School Years 3-6 inclusive. 1 mile in the local area, through Manor Vale on and off road. Fully marshaled throughout, partially closed to traffic (High Street). Medals to all, trophies to first boy and girl in each year group.
 10km Race:  For 15 years and over.  A fast undulating measured course starting in Kirkbymoorside and running through the villages of Gillamoor and Fadmoor.  Ends with a superb finish in the town centre to the applause of large crowds and excellent music from Kirkbymoorside’s brass band.

We are glad of any help that can be given on the day. If you’d like volunteer to Marshal or can help with any of the other jobs on the day, please contact school. The Marshal’s co-ord meeting will be held on Thursday, 3 May at 1900hrs in school.
